League of Legends Tournament Rules and How to sign up!
Hello there, your Event Coordinator for LoL@ York here. (I've always wanted to say that =D)
As many of you are wondering for the tournament: How is it happening?; What are the rules for the tournament?; and How do you sign up?
Matches
Group Stages 4 games per team Each team gets to play 4 games each in the group stage (you will be seeded randomly into 4 groups). Top 2 from each of the 4 groups moves onto the quarter-finals. Group stage played from Oct 6th to Oct 9th
4 Quarterfinal Matches Best of One on Oct 10th
The Quarterfinal matches will be streamed the next day from which they are played into the Junior Common Room in the Bethune College after they are played. They will be streamed (Time TBD) with commentators Oct 7th-11th
2 Semi-Finals Matches, Best of 3. Played and Streamed live to the JCR – Oct 12th
3rd and 4th placement match; and Finals Best of 3. Played and Streamed live to the JCR - Oct 13th
We will try our best to accommodate for the preliminary matches and quarterfinal matches as they will be probably be held during the night.
However, the semis and finals will be played and streamed live on the campus on the weekend of the preliminaries. If you do make the semis and finals, we ask that you bring your own computer/laptop to play on during these 2 days.
The weekend will probably be something like this:
o Sat Oct 12th
9:00 Set up at JCR and Bethune Study room(Or Alternate Room) and Paul Delaney room (or Alternate Room)
10:00 Start Semi final A Match 1
10:45 Match 1 is Finished, players will be given 15 minute break
11:00 Start Semi final A Match 2
11:45 Match 2 is Finished, players will be given 15 minute break
12:00 Start Semi final A Match 3**
12:45 Match 3 ends and clean up**
1:00 Break and Set up until 2:00pm
2:00 Start Semi final B Match 1
2:45 Match 1 is Finished, players will be given 15 minute break
3:00 Start Semi final B Match 2
3:45 Match 2 is Finished, players will be given 15 minute break
4:00 Start Semi final B Match 3**
4:45 Match 3 ends and clean up**
o Sunday Oct 13th
9:00 Set up at JCR and Bethune Study room(Or Alternate Room) and Paul Delaney room (or Alternate Room)
10:00 Start 3rd and 4th place Match 1
10:45 Match 1 is Finished, players will be given 15 minute break
11:00 Start Start 3rd and 4th place Match 2

Rules
Recommended level is Level 30, but not required.
All matches will be played as tournament draft style in which you need 16 champions on your account (Free week or owned).
Teams must be a team of 5 and each team are allowed a maximum of 2 substitutes.
Teams have a 10 minute window before the match, to check into the game lobby. Penalties will occur for teams that passed the 10 minute window, up to and including disqualification.
During the game, pauses are allowed, but must be justified. Ex: Connection issue, Communication issues, Mouse/Keyboard issues, etc...
If a reoccurring disconnect happens within the first 5 minutes of the game, the game will be restarted
No Ghosting or streaming. Team Cell Phones / Communication devices must NOT be used while playing in the game. Anyone caught, will be penalized, up to and including disqualification.
Disclaimer (no show) team will be automatically forfeited.
Sign Up
This is a first come first serve basis. There will be a limit of 20 Teams. There will be a waiting list after the 20 teams limit.
Sign ups will start at 12:00am (I will not accept any earlier) on Wednesday 25th, by emailing me at eric.lam.tran@gmail.com your team name, Team members, Summoner names and affiliated college.
Entry fee of $25 must be given to (exec to be named) by Monday Sept 30th, 2013 if you are one of the 20 teams. Any teams that haven't given their entry fee by the specified date, their spot will be given to teams in the waiting list.
As well, when would most of you be free to watch the preliminaries / quarterfinal matches during the day of the week?
